Brooke and Mike

Chris's sister Brooke is getting married February 11th in the Vegas Temple.  We are so excited for her and Mike!  Kylie and Ellie are going to be flower girls.  Kylie and I were talking about the wedding just this morning and I was telling her that she gets to wear a new dress and new gold SPARKLY shoes.  But then Kylie was insistent on wearing her yellow Belle dress!  Brooke, are you sure you don't want to change one of your colors to bright yellow?  Ha ha.  But, I think Kylie will be excited for her flower girl outfit once she gets to Vegas and gets to try it on!

Anyway, Chris took engagement photos of Brook and Mike a couple of weeks ago and just posted some on his blog, so check them out!  http://chrisbunkerphoto.blogspot.com/2012/01/brooke-and-mike.html

Here are a couple of my favorites!

We love you Mike and Brooke!

Little Einsteins B-day Party!

Because of Kylie's love of Disney's show, The Little Einsteins, we decided to have a Little Einsteins party. Kylie's aunts and uncles came over for lunch, a game and of course cake and ice cream.  She had been looking forward to this.  Friday morning during breakfast she asked, "Today Saturday?  It's my birthday party today?"  No, it's tomorrow.  She comes out of her room Saturday morning and the first thing she says is, "Today my birthday party?  Everyone coming over?"  Yep, today is your party.  Then Kylie says, "I am going to be so excited!"

Even though the party was pretty simple, it is did not disappoint her!  For lunch, we had foods representing different countries (The Little Einsteins travel around the world on adventures).  We played pin the antenna on Rocket and had Rocket cake!  It was fun making the cake and I liked how it turned out, besides that it was pink instead of red.  Kylie didn't care though!  And the birthday girl got some fun presents from her aunts and uncles....thank you everyone for the gifts and for the wonderful time!

We didn't take too many pictures (Chris was having way to much fun), but here are a few.

The Rocket cake!

Playing pin the antenna on Rocket

Excited to see where her antenna ended up.

Chandra and Josh...Kylie helped spin everyone around.

Josh Murry...Nicole's fiancé.

Chelsa...I was close. (But of course Chris had to win, I mean cheat).   Josh Acker also won.

Happy birthday dear Kylie!

Kylie, the birthday girl

Kylie is now 3!  We had lots of fun Thursday celebrating her birthday as a family.  We got to snuggle and sleep in (thank you Ellie for going back to sleep) and then Dad made us pancakes.  Oh, wait before breakfast, Kylie opened presents.  She couldn't wait!  She was so excited to open them.  While she ate breakfast, she watched Little Einsteins and sang along with her new microphone!  Later in the afternoon, We spent some time at BYU's Bean Museum, one of Kylie's favorite places.  She ran around like she owned the place (or like it was her birthday).  Casey and Nicole stopped by for a visit, we had dinner, played with her new puzzle (thank you Gma and Pa Bunker) and then got to have some cupcakes, ice cream and watch Mary Poppins (thank you Gma and Pa Abe).  Kylie had a great birthday!

Kylie was excited to get some yellow clothes!  And a BYU shirt from Daddy.  So lucky!

Kylie loves her microphone!  Now she can sing along when watching Little Einsteins!

She loved the "puddle jumper" life jacket from Gma and Gpa A.  She immediately went to find her floaty and goggles.  All ready to go swimming!  (If only it wasn't winter!)

Here are a few pictures from our Bean Museum outing.

Running around like she owns the place!  (Yes, she has her shoes and socks off.)

Kylie is 3!

Kylie is now 3!  I have been reminiscing a little and looking through some pictures from the past year.  It is fun to see how Kylie has changed/grown.  I thought I would post a few of my favorites from the past year.

Happy New Year! (Our Christmas Card)

So it is two weeks after Christmas and I finally found some time to sit down and write our Christmas letter.I guess it is more of a New Year’s letter now!  But we wanted to give a little update and let all of you, our family and friends, know how grateful we are for you and how much we love you!  Highlights of this year have been the birth of Ellie Elizabeth, a trip to Florida, visits from family, Chris and Chelsa’s get-a-way to San Fransisco and Christmas with family!

Chris’s classes in BYU’s BFA program keep him busy, as does being the head photographer at BYU’s newspaper, The Daily Universe.  He especially enjoyed shooting the basketball and football games this year.  His family is always amazed at his projects, whether it be a photograph or something made from wood.  Chris enjoys playing basketball each week at the church and is still teaching Sunday school to the 12 year olds.  He loves eating ice cream with Kylie, spending time with family and watching ESPN (or whatever game is on!)  His greatest accomplishment of 2011 was finishing the deck on the Rowe Idaho cabin.

Chelsa stays super busy at home taking care/entertaining two little ones and a husband.  She is now the Primary secretary and enjoys hosting Kylie’s playgroup as well as Psych night (for us adults…best TV show ever!).  She also likes going on walks to the park, playing in the pool with the girls and is grateful to have started exercising again.  She loves spending time all together as a family, crafting and digital scrapbooking (when there is time).  Chelsa’s greatest accomplishment of the year has been adjusting to two kids!

Kylie (3 yrs old this week!) is as active and fun as ever.  Looking back at photos and videos of Christmas last year, we can’t believe how much she has grown/learned.  She continues to be super observant, smart and inquisitive. She enjoys nursery at church, reading books and playing with her grandparents, aunts and uncles.  Kylie is loving, funny, a good helper (when she wants to be) and quite strong-willed and independent.  She loves singing, dancing, gymnastics (at-home with mom), swimming, Little Einsteins, and anything yellow.  Oh, and she can’t do anything without Mommy Bear, her Care Bear. Kylie’s greatest accomplishment has been potty training!

Ellie (10½ months) is both a sweetheart and a high-energy baby.  She is very social, always wanting to be a part of what is going on and never stays in one spot very long.  She can play patty-cake and peek-a-boo, walk with help, say Mama and Dada and just signed her first wordfood!  Ellie loves avocados and cheese, bath time, her big sister, being outside, playing with “Kylie’s” toys, and getting attention.  Her greatest accomplishment of the year was teething (and learning to fall back asleep by herself after weeks of night-wakings!)

We have been blessed this year and are thankful that we have been healthy and happy. We are grateful for our loving Heavenly Father, our Savior Jesus Christ and for the love and support of wonderful family and friends. We look forward to seeing many of you family members this summer (we have four family reunions planned!)  May you all have a super-duper 2012!

Christmas at our house

It was fun to have my whole family and grandparents at our house for Christmas.  It was a busy week and of course went by too fast.  My mom was able to come out a week early, which Kylie loved.  We played, baked lots of cookies and did a little shopping.

Sugar cookies!  Kylie was pretty good cutting them out, but would lick the frosting instead of keeping it on the cookies!

Stirring the brownies
We all went skiing, yes, even Chris!  It was fun even the snow wasn't the greatest (o.k. was non-existent)

It was so fun to have Grandma and Grandpa Jensen come!  We always love spending time and playing games with them.

Right before Christmas, we (Mom, Dad, Gma and Gpa J, Devin, Lori, Chris and I) got to go to the SLC temple.  My grandparents were married there and have never done a session there, so I decided it was necessary to go!  And of course, since serving my mission there, it is one of my favorite places.  After the temple, we were able to walk around a bit to look at the lights (quickly...it was freezing) and grab a bit to eat.  It was a memorable night.  (Thanks Chandra and Channing for babysitting.)
